Large Funding Amounts and Long Project Periods
European grants often relate to big projects with long lead times that involve large sums. Many of the development and improvement projects of universities, technical institutes, research institutes, companies and foundations are eligible for an EU subsidy. The most important schemes fall under the 7th Framework Programme (FP7), Competitiveness & Innovation Programme (CIP) and Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP). These schemes together currently provide approximately €64 billion in grants.
