Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP)
Educational and training initiatives
The European Commission has integrated its various educational and training initiatives under one single umbrella programme, the Lifelong Learning Programme. The Lifelong Learning Programme has a budget of nearly €7 billion for the period 2007 - 2013.
The general objective of the programme is to contribute through lifelong learning to the development of the European Union as an advanced knowledge-based society, with sustainable economic development, more and better jobs and greater social cohesion, while ensuring good protection of the environment for future generations. In particular, it aims to foster interchange, cooperation and mobility between education and training systems within the European Union so that they become a world quality reference (the Lisbon Treaty).
Depending on the action, project duration is between 3 months and 4 years. Funding consists of contribution up to 75% or lump sums.
On average every year a call is being published.
