  • Technology studies and benchmark: CiaoTech/PNO performs comprehensive analysis of technology state-of-the-art through desktop research and interviews with industries and top level universities. The analysis include scientific papers and patents, sought in European and worldwide databases and literature web sites, EU and national R&D projects (concluded and on going), competitors and other stakeholders analysis. Our sector-specialist consultants work in strict relation with you to provide very practical outcomes of our work: 
    • A detailed analysis of the state of the art, including scientific  papers and patents of interest, and research projects on going and concluded;
    • Identification of who’s doing what at research level (universities, enterprises, etc.);
    • Identification of technological and commercial potential partners;
    • Benchmark of your project against current technology state of art.

 

  • Market and functional analysis of complex innovative technologies: Ciaotech/PNO performs comprehensive market and functional analysis of complex innovative technologies. We support SMEs and industries in realizing market and functional analysis of complex technology products. This activity, usually performed prior or at the beginning of a research project, has as main outcome a clear view of the potentialities of an innovative technology, the market acceptance, and the definition of most important functions requested by users. Our market and functional analysis is performed through desktop research but also through direct interviews with stakeholders of the sector, exploiting PNO wide network, which also allow to pave the way for the future commercial exploitation.

 

  • Support in techonology information: CiaoTech/PNO has developed a proprietary methodology based on TRIZ (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) and QFD (Quality Function Deployment) to support SMEs and Large Industries in define innovative concepts for technological innovation. Our methodology is based on a combination of marker driven and technology push approach, and include the following steps:
    • Structuring of your technology system in mechanism and function trees (as per TRIZ definition of function), to abstract the functions of the technology systems from their specific applications;
    • Identifying which system or subsystem technology innovation can have the best impact on market. This is realised also through the usage of the House of Quality taking into account the “voice of the customer”
    • Per each technology system where innovation is needed, TRIZ tools (such as the full ARIZ approach) as well as specific intelligence actions (patent search, scientific paper search, etc.) are performed in order to identify potential concepts of innovation
    • As final outcome of the process, clear concepts for radical or incremental technological innovation of your products or processes, with high potential for market.

Our methodology has been developed through several R&D projects (also financed by European Commission), and has been already applied successfully on several cases.

  • Dissemination and exploitation of project results: CiaoTech/PNO supports the creation of awareness on your research projects results by reaching thousands of qualified European organisations. This is particularly helpful when you perform public funded projects, as European Commission and some national bodies require you to broadly disseminate the results of your research projects.
