Assessing the Technological and Commercial Feasibility of an Innovative Technology
The research project grant is for projects aiming to assess the technological and commercial feasibility of an innovative technology. Projects can last from 6 - 18 months and these grants are available to any SME (having less than 250 employees and either less than €50m sales or less than €43m of asset value). The grants are up to 60% of actual project costs and the grant awarded can be between £20,000 and £100,000.
Aims of a Research Project Grant
- To confirm the technological and commercial aims are viable
- Assess the prospective benefits
- Carry out basic research to define the project objectives
- Define operational, technical and design factors
- Define the economic and commercial objectives
- To set objectives and target dates for a full development project and subsequent exploitation
