PNO acquires Deloitte Grants & Incentives

02/10/2008

Arnhem, 2 October 2008

PNO today announced the acquisition of Deloitte’s Grants & Incentives Division in the Netherlands and Belgium. Deloitte’s 25 employees will be integrated into PNO’s business units in these countries. Deloitte is withdrawing its activities in this market segment in order to emphasise its independence as an audit organisation. The acquisition allows PNO to strengthen its market position in the Netherlands and Belgium. No financial details were disclosed.

PNO Consultants, a grants consultancy company, acquired Deloitte’s Grants & Incentives Division in the Netherlands and Belgium on 1 October 2008. The acquisition perfectly aligns with PNO Consultants’ strategy to become a major independent grants consultancy company in Europe. Last year PNO acquired Ernst & Young's Grants and Incentives Division in the Netherlands. PNO is the only party capable of providing guidance to highly ambitious clients throughout Europe. CEO Willem Zandbergen: “This acquisition once again emphasises the need for independence in providing grants consultancy services. We continually demonstrate to our clients that we are 100% committed to them, across Europe, and that we are improving our services by investing in creating added value for our clients.” Liesbeth Kraaijveld, Country Director for the Netherlands, is positive about the step taken by PNO. “Previous acquisitions, such as the integration of Ernst & Young’s Grants & Incentives Division in July 2007, have made our company stronger. I expect this acquisition to have the same effect.”

PNO acquires Italian grant consultancy CiaoTech

03/04/2008

Arnhem/Rome, 3 April 2008

Grant consultancy PNO acquires the Italian grant consultancy CiaoTech in order to deliver grant consultancy services throughout Europe. This is the third acquisition, after having integrated the Dutch Grants and Incentives department of Ernst & Young in July 2007 and the Spanish grant consultancy econet in October 2007.

Local presence, European service

The acquisition of CiaoTech is the next step in PNO’s strategy to offer grants consultancy services throughout Europe. Both companies have been cooperating in several projects in the past around CiaoTech’s specialization in innovation projects with EU funding. “Local presence in Milan, Rome and Pescara is an important added value in the international market for financial services”, CEO Willem Zandbergen states. “The integration of CiaoTech will lead to a better positioning at the Italian market for grants consultancy.”

PNO and econet merge!

01/10/2007

Arnhem/Madrid, October 1st , 2007

€156 billion available for investments in Central and Eastern European countries (2007-2013)

PNO and econet merge to better address grant opportunities for European organizations.

A new release of € 156 billion EU-grant funding will give enormous opportunities for investment in CEE-countries. From now on, national programmes are open for grant applications in order to distribute these funds. Recently merged grant consultancies PNO (the Netherlands) and econet (Spain) predict this will give an economic boost in Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania and Poland.

In order to level the economy in Europe, the European Union set aside a total sum of € 375 billion (national and EU-programmes). Part of this ( € 156 billion) has been allocated to the new Member-States in Central and Eastern Europe in order to raise their economic standard. Grants are known to have significant economic spin off-effects for the total region. The first calls for grant applications have recently opened in Hungary, Czech Republic and other countries will follow soon.

Grant consultancies econet and PNO merged today in order to assist a growing number of organizations that do not want to miss out on grant opportunities in Central and Eastern Europe. CEO Willem Zandbergen stated: “Grant applications and their implementation in the organization turn out to be complicated. Organizations are facing competition for limited funds. Getting the grant first time right is therefore essential. That is why organizations prefer hiring independent grant experts instead of missing out on the available grant funding. With 350 consultants and offices in 13 European countries we are able to offer European grant consultancy at the highest quality level.”

Local presence, European service
The merger is a logical step for econet and PNO. They have been cooperating in several projects since 2001. “A clear added value for our clients is the fact that we now offer grant consultancy services throughout Europe. Clients we serve for national grant schemes, now also invest in Eastern European countries, where economic growth figures are very promising. To find out which grant opportunities are most effective for them, and to deliver the quality they are used to, it is a must to be present in the region and to know the local circumstances”, Zandbergen added.

European leadership
Both companies have a leading market position in grants consultancy in their home countries, and have been successfully managing all kinds of investment projects throughout Europe. The ‘buy and build strategy’, used to reach the present position will be continued in order to strengthen the European market leadership. More information:

PNO take over grant consultancy department Ernst & Young, the Netherlands!

02/07/2007

Arnhem, the Netherlands, July 2nd, 2007

PNO take over grant consultancy department Ernst & Young, the Netherlands.

PNO take over the grant consultancy department of Ernst & Young, the Netherlands. By this purchase, PNO confirm their position as major independent grant consultancy organisation in the Netherlands.

Joint forces

By July 1st, 2007, the Dutch grant consultancy PNO integrate all grant consultancy activities as well as grant advisors / consultants from Ernst & Young Tax Advisors. Most important reasons for PNO are a further consolidation of the number one-position in the Netherlands, and a stronger position on the European market for grants consultancy. “Thanks to 50 new colleagues, we raise additional knowledge and expertise. This means an important advantage in the market of grants, that is known for its high level of expertise. Furthermore, this purchase is in line with our European ambitions”, Willem Zandbergen, CEO of PNO says.

European number one in grants consultancy

PNO have the ambition to be number one in grants consultancy in Europe. Therefore, from the year 2000, the Dutch company have launched their own offices in several European countries (in Poland from 2004). International clients with different European establishments are locally serviced by one and the same company for all their grant-aided funding.

Independent

Besides European coverage, clients seem to appreciate more and more the independent, specialised advise of grants consultancy. CEO Zandbergen explains: “This reinforcement by 50 new colleagues is very important for us. Finally, grant schemes, grant applications and their implementation in the organisation turn out to be complicated. That is the reason why organisations prefer hiring independent grant experts in stead of missing out on this grant aided funding. The profession ‘grant consultant’ has grown to maturity.”
