Overview of the webinar
A number of delegates participated in the webinar, which was delivered by James Hughes (Innovation Consultant & Grants Compliance Manager) and Olaf Swanzy (Managing Consultant).
After James and Olaf welcomed the delegates, James started with an introduction to PNO and what we do, then gave an outline of Innovate UK’s position within UKRI and the grant landscape.
James followed that with an explanation of what the Smart Grants programme is and provided valuable insights into the scheme including the significant changes that have been recently made to the scheme. (You can read our article about the changes here).
What makes a grantable project?
Olaf then described what makes a grantable project to give delegates an idea of the level of innovation that Innovate UK supports and the types of projects typically funded under Smart Grants.
To finish, Olaf covered how to write a successful bid addressing the questions in Smart Grants, providing invaluable hints and tips for each plus identifying some common problems to avoid.
Following the webinar, one-2-one sessions were available to delegates so they could discuss their project ideas with our team of experts.
